Includes a biographical sketch of Eleazer Oswald who was active in the Revolutionary War, especially at the Battle of Quebec and on Lake Champlain. Additional information (all 2002 photocopies) on Eleazer includes research notes about his journal on Lake Champlain; notes from the journal, which were published in the New England Chronicle, June 1, 1775; Oswald Chronology, 1750-1797; and an abstract of a Ph. D. thesis entitled, Col. Eleazer Oswald : politican and editor, by Vernon O. Stumpf, Dept. of History, Duke Univ., 1968. The journal has a brief and interesting description of Benedict Arnold's raid at St. John's, Canada, on May 18, 1775.
